Suggested Location PagesEdit

Hey Darkrai, there's something that I've had on my mind for a while. One of the former admins that you might be familiar with, ILHI, originally had the idea of creating pages dedicated specifically to locations that some levels take place in. This has already been done for places such as Oblask Dam, the Stanizlav Train Depot and Planet X, and the remnants of ILHI's wide scale plans could be seen in the red links that originally littered the TS1 character pages. I was curious if you thought continuing on this tangent would be a good idea.

The page layout I had in mind was similar to that of the Stanizlav Train Depot page: any available history on the location; a detailed description of the layout and architecture of the location; descriptions of the location's relevance to Story mode and appearances in Arcade/Challenge mode; specific businesses that may be shown (such as all the different flight companies shown in Spaceways); any trivia that may exist. Also, any information that already exists on other pages, such as period information on the Tomb (Story) page and country speculation on the Village (Story) page would be transferred over under their respective subheadings.

For the sake of completeness, it would make sense to do this for all the TS1 pages, as well as Location pages for the Robot Factory and the U-Genix building, whose red links are somewhat plentiful on the Wiki. I look forward to hearing your thoughts.

Re. Project P.L.A.C.E.Edit

I'm glad you agree, and I do like your acronym as well. All credit should go to ILHI for having the idea, even if he did exile himself from here three years ago. On the 'Talk:Story' page, he put down his own layout template for the location pages, but it's basically the same as mine (with the inclusion of all the characters that appear in their respective level).

In terms of where to start, I guess the best place would be to agree on a template for the Location page layout itself, and to make a list of all the levels that would need accompanying location pages under this scheme. After going through a list of all the levels, here are all the locations that would fit under this (according to me, anyway). What do you think?

TS1

• Egyptian Tomb.
• Chinese Restaurant.
• Cyberden.
• Village.
• Chemical Plant.
• Gallows Hill Mansion.
• Docks.
• Spaceways Spaceport (although ILHI preferred the name 'Anna Spaceways', I really doubt that that's correct).

TS2

• Chicago.
• NeoTokyo - Tek Quarter.
• Dark Machinist Child's Robot Factory
• Space Station.

TSFP

• Mansion of Madness/Jacob Crow's Mansion.
• U-Genix Building.
• Machine Wars Ruined City.

There's also the option of talking about the rocky red wilderness that makes up The Hooded Man and Time to Split missions of TSFP, but that could also be discussed in the Spacetime Marine HQ page instead.

Aside from that, there's the division of labour regarding these; I have no problems with any of them, but my forte is TS1, so I'd like to primarily do those pages. I'll be online for all of tomorrow (it's about 8:45pm for me right now), so I'll be free to discuss what I've talked of above and any suggestions that you may have. I look forward to delving into this.

No problem. To me, it seemed like ILHI saw all the "I'm Anna, Fly Me" Spaceways posters around and took it to mean the Spaceways Stewardess was the personification of the company or something, because that's the only rationalisation I can think of; it bothered me for the longest time as there's no way 'Anna Spaceways' can be the name of the place. No matter now, though. With my university schedule I might not be able to work as fast as I can, but I'll try. If there's no objections regarding the format of the page, I'll get on to it. Thanks for maintaining the Wiki Edit

Hey, former (technically still current?) admin dropping in to say thanks for maintaining this wiki! Most of the old staff left this place for various reasons, so it's nice to see that someone's taking care of the place and upholding a standard of quality again. I checked in for a quick fact before you became admin once and noticed a lot of petty vandalism and incoherent gibberish littered throughout. Not so much now. Great job, and keep up the good work!
