After doing some extensive editing across the wiki, I was reflecting on a couple of ideas that have only been partially applied. First, ILHI's old idea of creating separate pages for actual locations (Gallows Hill Mansion, Egyptian Tomb). This has been done for Planet X and Oblask Dam, so shall pages for all story locations be made? Also, Arcade Custom game modes: should Arcade levels have lists of all the game modes that apply to them?
I have no idea if the previous poster is still active, and I realize this is a very belated reply, but I'll answer anyway. The current admins of the TS Wiki can be checked here. Judging by the activity still occurring here, I'd say ILHI's departure hasn't impacted it negatively to the degree that it could have. Thanks to all of the people helping to keep this place alive! I still use this place as a resource when I forget a tidbit of TS trivia.
From researching multiple FAQ websites, it appears that both SGT Slate and Private Sand are unlocked with a gold in "Shrinking From the Cold". I will update the page and if anybody can verify the unlocks please add a message on chat or my User talk.
Oh yeah and one more thing. On the page for "Artificial Intelligence", the thumbnail image of Ilsa Nadir is missing. In its place is a one star rating. Again my lack of experience in wiki editing means I cannot edit it myself.
Don't worry about fixing the unlocks for "Can't Please Everyone"; I have already done it myself. It looks like infoboxes were easier to use than I thought they were. The SGT Slate thing still needs fixing. I do not know how to unlock him, so I will need more information to fix this one.
Hello, everybody. I am a bit new to Wiki editing, so I am a bit confused by these Infoboxes. I spotted that on the page for "Can't Please Everyone" It shows that Changeling is unlocked with a Silver, whereas on the page for Changeling it shows that Changeling is unlocked with a Gold. When I tried the Arcade League match, I got Silver first time and unlocked Maiden. The second time, I got Gold and unlocked Changeling, so I think The medal unlocks for "Can't Please Everyone" need changing. I tried it myself, but ended up messing up the entire infobox, so I had to reverse the action.
Secondly on the page for SGT Slate, It shows that he is unlocked by getting a gold in "Shrinking from the Cold". However on the page for "Shrinking from the Cold", it shows that Gold unlocks Private Sand, not SGT Slate.
Hi there, people! I was playing TS Future Perfect this morning
and I found something weird : There was no health in the Siberia level when I was playing capture the bag, only like three pieces of armour (one in each base and one between two pillars between the bases). Also, the dam and all the bunkers (besides the ones that make up the Red and Blue base) are devoid of weapons, but there are weapons elsewhere in the map. Does this sound familiar to anyone? Is this little "reorganization" of stuff normal?
No, and please remember to post below the ==Chat== part of text when you edit this page =)
Big Tony couldn't be Mr. Big because Jake Fenton kills him in 1932. Mr Big is from Chinese which takes place in 1970, so even if Big Tony had not been killed he would have surly died before 1970 due to his age and physique in any case
Couldn`t it be possible that maybe the ones like khallos, big tony and others, wouldn`t that mean that they never died, for example,Big tony could be Mr.big, since well, technically,he really hadn`t died.
Thanks for that, I never thought about it. And thanks for the design comments. --In other news, because at editthis.info, our site was called "timesplitterswiki", our TSWiki space is "Timesplitterswiki:" instead of "TimeSplitters Wiki:" -- should I try and get wikia to change it?
I really couldn't believe no one had updated the Free Radical Design page yet, so I went ahead and detailed into the closing and subsequent administration. Also, liking the new look of the wiki! Very clean, and the logo fits in well. Good work.
The logo seems a bit glitchy at the moment. Earlier, I was getting the original logo, so I uploaded the Cortez one and still saw that logo, though it said it was a dup of the Cortez logo. Then, I decided to upload the Chen pic to see if it did anything, it didn't. After a few days it DID do something (weirdly, usually it updates straight away), so then I uploaded Cortez logo again and it worked.
Then again, the Chen pic showed and now, for me, it's on Cortez again. I'm just seeing where it's going ATM.
Hi guys, if any of you still watch over the wiki I want opinions, what tense should our Story sections be written in? Usually you'd expect present tense, though I find it easier to write in past. Past or present?
I'll probably be creating some Story pages in the next few days. This will mean that pages linked to on Story will be pages about missions, and pages about Story locations will be created. I'm also considering making pages for timezones. Hmm.
Okay, how I plan to do this for TS1 levels are, for example:
Village (Story): Contains information about the village mission.
Village (Arcade): Contains information about the structure and design of the level.
Village: Contains Story informations, the setting of the Story mission, but not information about the events of the mission it self. Any objections? No? Good. It's so TimeSplitters is perceived as a Story more than a fun 100% arcade game.
Co-ordinated Universal Time. Why is it UTC? Because the people who designed the acronym wanted it to be a universal acronym, and therefore put the letters in an order making sense to no one.
I also can't believe it's been nearly a year since I was last here. One of the things that surprised me the most was I forgot all of the Wiki code I learned from last time, I even forgot how to make a TS Chat post! I had to go and see the "How to use Chat" section. D:
But at any rate, once I re-adjust myself I'll likely return to making new articles or editing existing articles like I did before.
Btw, something I was wondering as I was browsing the Wiki, did anybody notice I was gone? Or at least forgot to come back until now? It would have sucked for all of that work I put into Arcade League and Glitches sections to go unnoticed. :(
One last thing, what does UTC mean in the post information of some of these posts?
What do you guys think about making location pages... as opposed to story pages. "Khallos Island" and "Planet X", "The Lost Temple of T'hochek" and "Little Prospect", "Ultra-Net Base" and "Urnsay". These would be in-addition to our current places... but it would mean I don't have to link to multiple Story missions when doing the Future Perfect missions, even though they are in the same place...
... As well as other reasons. TimeSplitters is a Story with places. Not just maps, and Story missions. They're just non-canon locations, and the mission's titles.
But it is up to you whether I do this. This be why I have held on finishing Cortez's page. Because I could half the TSFP entries. (because "What Lies Below" is still part of the Mansion Of Madness,, because the secret lab is still part of the level... etc.
Yes I know how to go about it, it's just I'd prefer if people didn't have to create their own templates to get more forum-esque talk boxes. For example, any member could just type:
Blah de blah blah blah
The template I exampled above would be constructed so that the person who submits it already has their details filled in, because the talk template would include ~~~~. The template would also include a "Image:~~~_avatar.jpg" so that the person's avatar would automatically be implemented (for example, if i were to submit using this proposed template, it's load up "Image:Xylaquin_avatar.jpg").
I tried to do this in the past, but the one thing stopping me is you can't make a template have any form of ~~~ or ~~~~ without the template creator's name being submitted.
Using the proposed template, any member would find it completely easy to talk and have their details automatically filled in for them as well as their avatars (providing they have uploaded one)
You mean like how my template works. How I input my name at the start, and it knows it's my template??? But of course, for this to work you'll need to make a Template. Copy the code, open up "Template:*", paste it, edit it to your liking, then when you want to use it, type "" (or fields can be different, I just use "1", and "2" for my simplicity)
Well to be realistic ILHI, it is a bit off.. having a different chat box to everyone else.
When I was considering updating the chat boxes with avatars, I was thinking perhaps the user would only need to type in their name into the template and the wiki would automatically change their avatar. It'd save on everyone creating their own templates.
Changed font colour. Yes it is out of date. It gets updated monthly I think, and you have to do a certain amount of edits for it to be recognised, maybe. I'm not quite sure. It's a handier tool on bigger wikis.
Also, I've made it easier to use the default chatbox. You see there at the bottom, the "Talkbox:". You can just click that to bring the chatbox up, and then start typing. I did this so that even on mainspace page's talk pages, you can still use this, rather than not being bothered because you'd have to Copy + Paste.
A bit out of date (I've edited since February), but still kind of cool, I guess. By the way, your custom chatbox is a bit hard to read. I suggest changing the font color to white.
I kinda got bored of the updating TS characters pages, and invested loads of time into another Wiki. I was about to upload some images here earlier, but my internet died on my laptop just before I did, so I'll have to that tomorrow.
I'm also going to edit the TS templates; and now I remember I forgot to do something earlier.
Because I was always typing in the code for the current chatbox I'm using now (being an editor on two wikis with a staff member in common), I decided I'm actually going to do something. So I just customized are usual one.
I've just noticed that none of the categories listed under "Wiki" from the old wiki were transferred successfully for some reason. I also notice that this wiki came with a lot of duplicate info from what we already had, but in a lot of cases these defaults, modified for our purposes, would be better. When I have the time I'll work on getting various duplicate categories, templates, etc. merged while ILHI reformats content pages.
BTW, people, ATM I'm editing the TS1/TS2/TSFP templates. I'm going to see if I can use the 30x30 icons hosted here and create some TS1 ones myself using the images supplied here. I think it'll make the pages look nicer. I'll upload all the images before hand, giving them names so they abide by a certain rule, add something to the template, and it will add to the templates automatically. So the added code will be ""; "" and "
I haven't been here much lately. Feel kinda bad about it to. I do have some new ideas for this wiki, though.
First I think we should have a custom maps pages. We could have a seperate page for each map and one map that led to all these pages. We could also add a link to a page that led to each user's maps on their page, or maybe another page that links to all that user's maps.
@Xyl' I would have done without the black lines but to me it didn't look right, even in full... what's the word... detail, as in in Photoshop format rather than when gif'd going to the obvious pixel around the edge. But when used without the black line, you get the obvious pixel around the edge of the character themselves. The black out lines on the images cover it up a bit.
If anyone feels like making one, just copy one of them, remove the character and add another one, upload it (if you can't get it as a gif, do png) and I'll add it (or re-upload it as gif then add it).
@DJ, is there anything on the internet that can help? They pretty much have the hardcore wrestiling fans' knowledges on there.
At the moment I'm heavily changing the Wiki to make it more, well generic really. Making it give the information on what you'd expect, basing it primarily around what features would exist if this Wikia was as popular as some others. As well as redesigning page layouts to make them better.
Drifting has nothing to add to the pages, he feels he has nothing to actually do, but will probably edit more and be more active when TimeSplitters 4 is released.
Xylaquin isn't as active here, and just comes here to see what's been happening, therefore if he has nothing to reply to he won't reply, and won't make edits.
DJ said he was going to upload images two days ago. He hasn't came back since :D.
And I have nothing to chat about, except what I'm doing with the Wikia, but meh, not topic coversation.
I want peoples opinions, should we add Sample Maps into a page/s? Really, everything default on the games should be noted ans have been/need to be inserted so far.
And then, if we do, should we include appearances on characters pages, and if so how?
Well, I checked the page, and then I checked a Character list on GameFAQs. GameFAQs says timed secret on Hard, here supplies the time and says Easy. 'Course, we will have to check this. Have you completed Docks on Hard?
