The Rocket Launcher has appeared in every TimeSplitters game so far. It has very powerful explosive shots that can kill a player in one shot, although robots can endure more damage from rockets before succumbing. The secondary fire shoots three rockets at once, which dispatches enemies over a wider area, given that the secondary fires three rockets in different directions. In TimeSplitters Future Perfect, you can set your rocket launcher to automatic and shoot six rockets at once, but the reloading time is slower than in TS2.
Bizarrely, in the TimeSplitters 2 model, the 3 rockets in stock are stored above the launching tube in a completely different part of the weapon, with no loading mechanism visible. This is best seen if the player uses manual aim to tilt the weapon down. Regardless of this, the TimeSplitters 2 rocket launcher is still a powerful, accurate firing and useful weapon.
The TimeSplitters 2 rocket launcher makes no appearances in Story Mode, but the Future Perfect rocket launcher makes an appearance in the mission Something to Crow About.
The rocket themselves are quite interesting. Despite pouring smoke from the exhaust, The rocket blasts at an astonishing rate but however the rocket tends to ascend rapidly during flight, making it quite inaccurate at long ranges. Despite this inaccuracy, standard rocket launcher rounds have unlimited range, unlike their homing counterparts, which explode after a set amount of time.
When "if best" is switched on, the Rocket Launcher ranks as the best weapon on TS1, even though it is not recommended for close-quarter combat (a fact AI bots seem to completely ignore).
