Game Appearances TimeSplitters Future Perfect

The HeatSeeker is a homing rocket launcher, found in TimeSplitters Future Perfect. Its only appearance was on Khallos Express, where Cortez had to use it to keep the helicopter gunship off his past self, whom was dealing with the henchmen on the rooftop of Cortez's train. It was never seen again after that.

Usage[]

The HeatSeeker appeared in a much earlier time zone than its more futuristic counterpart.

While staying true to its name, the HeatSeeker can lock on to a single target, which is hinted by the flashing 'Target Locked' under the radar.

Another unique aspect, unlike many other weapons when aiming, is that the crosshair will move around the screen like a cursor, in order to help with acquiring targets.

Gameplay[]

The HeatSeeker, compared to the prequel's variant, is a lot less effective. The missiles' seeking strength has been reduced significantly, making it far easier to dodge at range.

What's more is that they turned more broadly than before, crossing a 9 block tile for a 90 degree turn.

Nonetheless, it is still brutally powerful, with hits capable of destroying most targets with a direct hit, but the limited ammo capacity, and that the HeatSeeker is reloaded after every shot, makes it a challenge to use in a heated firefight.

Trivia[]

  • In real life, the HeatSeeker resembles the Soviet-made 9K32 Strela 2 anti-air rocket launcher.
  • It serves as a replacement for the much more futuristic Homing Launcher.
